Guesswhatguesswhatguesswhat

You're probably not going to believe this but...I finished a book. That's right. A whole book. OK, so it was The Catcher In The Rye which isn't exactly a long, difficult read, but still. I finished it. And I can officially cross it off my list, which you can find here. Although maybe don't click that link as you will then see how horrifically slack I have been. Anyway, as I now seem to have some kind of momentum going with my reading, instead of trying to finish It, On The Road, and A Clockwork Orange, I'm going to read something brand new and not stop until I've finished it. Then I can go back to unfinished books at a later date. I am definitely not going to finish all 30 books by the end of the year but I'm hoping to do over half of them, I'm pretty sure that is do-able at this point.

So that is how I spent the majority of my day, sitting outside in the sunshine reading a book, whilst my mother painted the garden fences. I like to think I was a big help to her.

I've been a very bad blogger

Oh hey, middle of August, when did you get here?

Sorry I disappeared for a while, please don't shout at me. I have been pretty busy but to be fair nothing that justifies an absence of this long! But anyway, I got my haircut today and figured I may as well make a return to this poor, neglected blog.

I bought this shirt yesterday and I loooove it. I also bought a couple of other bits that I am excited to showcase at some point. Although I do think it's worth mentioning that even though it's August and still technically summer, I have already purchased two items of knitwear. Bring on autumn/winter (my favourite seasons anyway!).

Shirt: H&M
Leggings: Dorothy Perkins

I cut off my feet in these photographs because I'm wearing socks with sheep on them over the bottom of my leggings and it is not a particularly blog-worthy look, I'm sure you'll agree!

I promise it won't be long until I post again this time!

What are we supposed to do now?

I've just been watching all the London 2012 montage videos on the BBC website, my dad has downloaded the closing ceremony soundtrack and that has been blasting all morning, and I am so very, very sad that it's all over. It's hard to know what to do with yourself after something that has pulled you in so completely is suddenly gone. The pictures in the papers and the headlines about how well London did have made me well up with pride, which is a lovely feeling, because us Brits don't tend to be overwhelmingly patriotic at the best of times. My personal highlights of the closing ceremony have got to be the Spice Girls and Eric Idle. Oooh, and Take That were fantastic as well.

So yes, London 2012 has drawn to a close, but at least I know where to find some awesome montage videos if I ever need a burst of national pride. Cheers London, you've been awesome.

Olympic Fever

Yes, yes, I'm aware I've been a tad absent lately, but I have been to Barmouth visiting Daf's family and also I'm just a bit rubbish. But let's talk about the Olympics shall we? Aren't we doing well?

I was saying to my dad the other day that every time Team GB win a gold medal I get an undeserved feeling of accomplishment, like I have just won a gold medal. And I think that's what I love about the Olympics this year; because they're in London I feel a lot more involved than I have done during previous Olympics (despite the fact that I live nowhere near London). I don't know, perhaps it's because I'm in the same timezone as all the action. But anyway, at the moment we seem to be winning gold medals left, right and centre, and the fact that a nation as small as Great Britain are currently sitting third in the medals table is fantastic, and I'm feeling pretty proud of my country right now. Here's hoping Andy Murray wins himself a gold medal or two today.

Finally, here is a photograph that I took of some bubbles when I was in Barmouth. (Bubbles are very hard to photograph).
