Photo Challenge

Tomorrow it is April, and that means I will be starting my 30 day photo challenge. I've spent all this morning coming up with what the challenges for each day will be, and I think I'm relatively happy with it now.

  • Reflection
  • Black and White
  • Shadow
  • Sky
  • Sunset
  • What I wore
  • Friends
  • Flowers
  • Animal/s
  • Something broken
  • Shoes
  • What I'm reading
  • Pattern
  • Something I cooked/baked
  • Night-time
  • Movement
  • Early morning
  • Easter eggs
  • My stuffed animals
  • Somewhere I went
  • Little details
  • My room
  • A game
  • Something from my childhood
  • Glasses
  • Candles
  • Faceless self-portrait
  • Make-up/jewellery
  • Close-up
I haven't numbered them here because I'm not going to do them in that order. I'm going to decide which one I'm going to do either the night before or the morning of each day, because I don't want to limit myself really. For example I don't want to try and photograph a sunset when it's really overcast and I can't actually see the sunset. I'm not going to do just one photo either; I'm pretty much going to do as many as I feel like. The whole point of this is to get me taking more photos, so I'm pretty excited.

So I'm starting that tomorrow, I'm not sure which one I'm going to do first yet so stay tuned!

Success!

On Sunday afternoon, whilst sitting out in the garden soaking up some of this gorgeous weather we've been having, I finally finished The Hobbit. Don't clap all at once. Despite me taking forever and a day to read it, I did really enjoy it. If you're planning on seeing the film when it comes out in December, you should definitely read it.

But yeah, anyway, this weather is amazing. It's good for gardening, it's good for ice-lollies, it's good for reading. Tomorrow I may even wash the car. I've already made a summer playlist for my i-pod. Too soon? Whatever, I'm rolling with it.

Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts folks. Wear a hat.

I am still bad at reading

I still haven't finished The Hobbit. The problem is I've only been reading a chapter or so before I go to sleep, and not every night, so whilst I am technically close to finishing, I'm not getting very far by rarely picking it up. Come on Emma, sort it out.

Daf and I went to see The Hunger Games yesterday, I'd really recommend it, it's so good. Probably one of the best book-to-movie adaptations I've ever seen, whilst at the same time not being confusing for anyone who hasn't read the book. (Although if you haven't read the books you totally should).

I've got a little photography challenge in the pipeline for April which I'm pretty excited about, plus that would mean that I would blog everyday in April. Anyway, I'll say more about that when I've finalised everything about it.

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Sometimes I wish I was Irish because St. Patrick's Day looks like a lot of fun.

Just a quick one today because I have to go to work in about an hour and a half, but I just wanted to inform everyone of my renewed love for Travis (the band). I bought an album of their singles the other day and I'd forgotten about some of their songs, like Walking In The Sun and Love Will Come Through.

Have a listen, enjoy, thank me later (unless you hate Travis, in which case...sorry). Their music sounds like springtime.

Currently Reading: The Hobbit but it's okay, I'm nearly finished. I swear.

I am bad at reading

Sorry for my silence, but now I've committed myself to including what I'm reading in every blogpost, I was embarrassed to update because I'm still reading The Hobbit. Please don't shout at me. I've only picked it up once in the last week. I'm so ashamed. But the good news is I'm planning on finishing it in the next couple of days, so that I can move on to another book. Hooray!

In other news, I went out with some friends on Friday night. I very rarely go out on the town anymore, so whenever I do it's usually a good night because it's such a novelty. It was fun. My friend and I were getting some drinks when some guy standing near us vomited all over the bar and was then surprised that a) they wouldn't serve him and b) that he was escorted out by a bouncer. It was disgusting, but hilarious.

Also, Daf and I have been watching Prison Break on Netflix, and it makes me have vivid dreams that I am either in prison, or I'm being pursued by the FBI for breaking out of prison. It's all very entertaining. Plus it means that Wentworth Miller features heavily in my dreams, and that can never be a bad thing.

Clear-out

This morning I have had to be ruthless. These are all the clothes that I am giving away.

I've been meaning to sort out my wardrobe for ages now and I've finally gotten around to it. I've had to say goodbye to a lot of jeans that I really love but that just don't fit me anymore. I've had to ask myself whether it's really necessary for me to have ten hoodies. Also going is the Snoopy t-shirt I've had for about seven years. I'm now in the market for a new Snoopy t-shirt. I've gotten rid of a lot of things that I really like, but just don't wear anymore, or can't wear anymore because they don't fit.

All in all, it's been a sad day. However, look how tidy my wardrobe is!

Finally I will be able to find things!

Also I've been looking around on Etsy at art prints, and there are several that I really want.
